So I had the granuloma removed today. We won't actually know for sure if it was a granuloma until I get the pathology report at my follow-up appt next Thursday, but anyway, it's not on my lip anymore. The doctor was awesome. The procedure was super-quick and, even though the local anesthetic wore off very quickly, it doesn't hurt much. The swelling should go down in a few days, and the stitches should fall out in a week, after which I'll have a slight scar for a few months, but she said if I massage it regularly, by 6 months there should be no scar because lips are very forgiving. Yay! "Before" and "after" pictures are
here if anyone wants to see them, but "after" is a little unpleasant (plus I can't really smile yet), and "before" is really gross (plus my face is a little distorted from the close-up), so if you click on the link and are grossed out, you have nobody to blame but yourself. Caveat clickor!
Oh my goodness! The stitched lip looks like it hurts! Glad it's over with!
