3 weeks

Hi everyone. Jill here. Charlotte is sleeping soundly and happily, so we have a chance to post! All is well, here. Charlotte is gaining weight well, per our two week pediatrician appt. She's also half an inch longer and keeps getting cuter by the minute, in our highly biased opinion.

We've had lots of friends and relatives to visit. Aunt Shannon came down with cousins Will and Scout right after she was born. They stopped by the hospital with Grandaddy (my dad). Friends "Auntie" Keri, "Auntie" Melissa and "Auntie" Kim also stopped by. Grandmommy (my stepmom, Brenda) was here for one night shortly after Charlotte was born and made her fabulous spaghetti sauce to help boost my very low hematocrit (which is already much better). Grandaddy later provided much needed baby- and mom-sitting when Randy went grocery shopping that first week, as I was not recovered enough from the c-section to safely manage stairs with the baby. Grammie (my mom) arrived on the 18th and immediately set to work making food, doing laundry and ironing and getting up with me in the middle of the night to bring me food and tickle Charlotte's feet when she fell asleep nursing. We were SO grateful for all her help! And very sorry to see her go. Thanks, Grammie! While she was here, the cousins came down again with Uncle PJ (my brother), and pulled pork barbecue was had, followed by Goodberry's frozen custard, as required by law. Grandma and Grandpa (Randy's parents) will be here this coming weekend, possibly with Aunt Laura! We're looking forward to seeing them. Also, several of my friends have come by bearing delicious food, for which we are VERY grateful. Thanks to Keri, Brie, Liz, Eva, Melissa and Kim! The latter three deserve special kudos as they have their own very young babies right now as well! Some pictures of those babies follow. We hope to get a picture with all four babies at Kim's cookout this weekend, if everyone can manage to make it. OK, that's all for now. Will report more next week!
