Some milestones

Charlotte has a tooth!  I'm so proud.  It's the left one (bottom, of course).  I tried, and utterly failed, to get a picture.  Fortunately, we're visiting DC this weekend to visit friends and family and to hear Charlotte's cousin's violin recital.  So a large percentage of our regular readers will get to see the tooth live and in person.  We can't wait to see everyone!

Charlotte recognized herself in the mirror today!  We knew the same way scientists can tell with animals - we had put a floppy green sunhat on her to take her on a walk, and when Randy showed her in the mirror, she immediately reached for her head to feel the hat!  (With animals I think they use a painted mark rather than a hat :-) ).

She had her flu booster today, and she didn't cry at ALL.  We were floored.  Last time there was a significant (a couple of seconds, maybe) delay between the shots and the crying, so we kept waiting.  But nothing.  She just looked up at everyone and smiled.  That's our stoic girl.

Bobo swapping - Pretty much her favorite activity these days is switching pacifiers.  We think she must get some sort of endorphin rush every time she puts one in, as she LOVES taking one out just to replace it with another one.  When given a bunch of toys and a couple of bobos, the bobos always win.

Below are video of 1) her second outing in the umbrella stroller, which she can now sit up well enough to ride in, 2) trying banana (whole, which I read was an ok thing to do, but I think maybe wasn't, as she gagged on a small piece that was still in her mouth after the video ends; it scared the living daylights out of us, but then she spit it out), and 3) some loud chatting.  She is starting to babble now, and tonight was saying, "bla bla bla" a lot with Randy, who was saying, "bla bla bla" back.  I kept trying to get her to say, "Grammie", but no go so far (sorry, mom).  The video isn't really of babbling so much as yelling, though, so be sure to play it somewhere where loud is not a problem.

And here is the promised hair picture.  It's not much, but it does appear to be increasing (slowly).  Can't wait to see more!
